Hi there,Honestly i was craving for malaysian food, my home food and i ordered it from SKIPI got roti chanai, fried wonton, chicken rendang and teh tarikRoti Chanai was delicious! But, the curry tasted like the curry you have with your laksa, not the indian curry which is what this dish supposed to be about. Excessive oil, excessive oil :/Fried Wonton tasted like the oil haven't been changed in a while, hence why my wonton tasted burnt :(Teh Tarik tasted like honey milk tea made with BOH, i honestly liked it. But, it was less :)Last but no least, Chicken Rendang.Delicious, but it needed more gravy :/Honest review only. #selamat
Great decor and good food. Portions can appear on the smaller side for some dishes - partly because they use large serving plates.
Great location with lots of street parking. Food is delicious and service is prompt. Friendly crew.
Curry Laksa was very good! but sadly other dishes were bland and mediocre, portions on the small side.nice decor, numerous photos and Malay themed decorations.service was okay. parking in the streets.
Interesting restaurant run by Malaysian Cantonese family. Food was good with prices of typical Malaysian restaurants. Drinks were interesting but taste was not so special. Service was good. Can accommodate large parties but need prior reservation. Great for sharing
Their whole chicken stuffed with Chinese herbal and steamed king crab legs with egg were unforgettable dishes to me. Restaurant was well decorated with very unique and Malaysia regional style. I’ve been this location last week with my family and I’m going to this place again to have dinner tonight. Hope they will bring me more surprises of their distinguished Nyonya cuisine. PS.YOU MUST TRY THEIR CURRY, I mean it, I just couldn’t stop dipping my bread into the curry sauce after I finished. (I was in Level 10/10 of my fullness that time:P)
Food was just ok, nothing to write home about. A little on the pricey side. Not sure if my expectations were too high but the food were disappointing. For a party of 9, we spent $40 a head. Honestly for that kind of money there are much better food to be had. Probably won't go back again to be honest. Oh by the way, they will tag on a 15% "service charge" automatically if you have a party of 8 or more
Penang is incredible! The staff, family run restaurant I believe, are so friendly and welcoming! Very fun atmosphere. Small but very busy restaurant for good reason as the food is delicious! I will definitely be going back for more! Since I didn't order the food I don't know the names of all the dishes.
All food were delicious, two thumbs up. I just find their serving small and tea was not hot when it was served. They have large tables and has private area when needed. This place is good for big groups. I like the ambience as well.
First time trying this place out. My normal go to Malay restaurant had been on a steady decline in quality, found out recently that it had changed owners. Through some friends recommendation, we decided to give this place a go. Being mother's day, I had called a day ahead and found out they were doing a mother's day seafood platter. To that, I added their signature crispy chicken, satay, roti, mee hoon, and mee goreng. Every single dish was delicious! My parents are from Malaysia, and they really enjoyed the flavours! Win, win!
Food was great, especially the special King Crab dishes. Usually in typical Chinese Seafood Restaurants, there's 3 dishes at most for King Crab but this particular restaurant made 10 different dishes for us to try out. Service was nice and attentivePrice was pretty fair.
Pretty dang good, especially the fried stuff which was nicely battered and crispy.
My experience here was amazing! The food tasted authentic and true to Malaysia. The service was spectacular (Amy in particular, gave us her attentiveness), the seafood is fresh and although the price is steep, it's undoubtly worth it. I'll be back very soon! 😊
We had a great lunch here. The ingredients were fresh and the service was friendly. Lots of great options on the menu. Loved the Rendang Beef and the garlic stir fried winged bean vegetables.
Always tasty, always a good time. Best when you go as a group. Many dishes to choose from, nasi goreng, rendang curry, and hainanese chicken are some of the staples... So good we don't stray much from them. The Golden chicken is something I want to try. It's nice they have private rooms for large parties. The more people you have the more variety you can have. Forget Tropica, this is the new Malay/Indonesian place to be.
